Robbin began her study of ballet at the age of six. At eight years old, after attending her first ballet, she knew she wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. She then began more intensive ballet training at The School of Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT, where she trained on full scholarship for several years. At the age of twelve she was awarded a full scholarship to the world renowned School of American Ballet (the school of New York City Ballet) where she received her prestigious Balanchine training. She was also awarded a full scholarship to Pacific Northwest Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School.
Robbin began her career as a professional ballet dancer at the age of sixteen when she was hired by Ballet West. There she performed in the corps de ballet in many classical ballets. She later went on to dance with Ballet Hawaii, Utah Regional Ballet, Los Angeles Classical Ballet and Ballet Arizona, where she danced numerous corps de ballet, principal and soloist roles. She was fortunate to be able to tour and perform all over the United States and internationally as well.
During her dancing career, Robbin was able to continue her study and education in ballet at the nationally ranked University of Utah Ballet Department and was the recipient of a full tuition William F Christensen scholarship. While there, she received her BS in Exercise and Sports Science.
Robbin has been teaching and choreographing for over 30 years. She has taught and headed the ballet departments of various studios in Utah and Arizona. Her private and class instruction has lead some of her students to professional careers and also to being the recipients of scholarships to some of the nation’s top-rated dance institutions such as Houston Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, School of American Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She has had numerous students place at several semi-finals of the largest and most prestigious ballet competition in the world, the Youth America Grand Prix. Robbin is dedicated to teaching the fine art of Classical Ballet at an “elite” level, and strives for all of her students to gain an appreciation for ballet as well as experience the mental and physical growth that ballet bestows upon its participants.
Robbin currently resides in Mesa, AZ with her husband and three wonderful boys, Ty, Greyson and Rush.
